Introduction to AeroCopilot
Overview of AeroCopilot — the multi-mode AI copilot for Part 91, 61, 107, and powered-lift (SFAR No. 120) pilots flying airplane, helicopter, drone, and eVTOL.
Introduction to AeroCopilot
AeroCopilot is a multi-mode aviation platform built for pilots operating under FAA regulations. One subscription covers airplane (Part 91), helicopter (Part 91 rotorcraft), drone (Part 107), and eVTOL (SFAR No. 120, codified at 14 CFR Part 194) operations — each with its own regulatory context, performance data, and AI tooling.
What you get
| Pillar | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Pre-Flight Briefing | METAR, TAF, NOTAMs, SIGMETs, AIRMETs, TFRs, PIREPs, Winds Aloft, G-AIRMETs, Runway Analysis, D-ATIS |
| AI Copilot | 113 specialized aviation tools across 5 chat modes — General, ChatFAR (14 CFR expert), CFI, ATC Trainer, Post-Flight Debrief |
| Compliance | 14 CFR 61.57(a/b/c) currency, BFR (61.56), medical (Part 67), fuel legality (91.151 / 91.167), weight & balance |
| Logbook | MyFlightbook OAuth read-only sync, manual entry, GPS auto-tracking with §61.59 wet-click signoff |
| Charts & Maps | MapLibre GL with VFR Sectional, IFR Low/High, Terminal Area, and parsed approach plates from the current CIFP cycle |
| Synthetic Vision 3D | three.js WebGL2 forward terrain view with FAA Digital Obstacle File overlay |
| Mode-Specific | Helicopter HOGE/HIGE, drone LAANC + UASFM, eVTOL energy budget with SMI 1.13x derate |
The four modes
Your URL determines the active mode. The header ModeChip reflects which mode you are in:
- Airplane —
/airplane/*(default) - Helicopter —
/helicopter/* - Drone —
/drone/* - eVTOL —
/evtol/*
Each mode loads aircraft-aware tools — for example, helicopter mode uses 91.151(b) 20-minute day VFR fuel reserves instead of the airplane 30-minute reserve, and helicopter Synthetic Vision requires FAA DOF data no older than 7 days as a wire-strike defense.
What is FAA-defensible
AeroCopilot artifacts are designed to survive regulatory scrutiny:
- Briefing PDF — server-rendered with a
BR-XXXXXXXXXXXXBriefing-ID and SHA-256 hash on every page. Defensible in an FAA Letter of Investigation. - 91.103 Affirmative Preflight Action Checklist — eight rows covering runway lengths, takeoff/landing distance, fuel, alternates, traffic delays, weather, and airworthiness.
- FRAT — IMSAFE + PAVE artifact (15 checkboxes, 0–21 score) per AC 120-92B.
- Risk-Window Gate — server-stamped pilot acknowledgment when ETD intersects forecast IFR or thunderstorm windows.
- §61.59 protection — auto-detected logbook entries stay in
draftuntil you wet-click sign; signed entries become amendments rather than overwrites.
Pricing at a glance
Subscriptions range from Free to $24.99/month, with $19.99/seat pricing for flight schools. AI usage is absorbed into the subscription — there are no credits, tokens, or overage to track.
