AD FAA-2018-0224

Airworthiness Directives; General Electric Company Turbofan Engines

Summary

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all General Electric Company (GE) GEnx-1B engines. This AD was prompted by a report of a center vent tube (CVT) failure leading to a loss of oil pressure and subsequent in-flight engine shutdown. This AD requires removal of an affected extension duct and replacing it with a part eligible for installation. We are issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
