Planning a fly-in trip?
Major fly-in events like Oshkosh and Sun 'n Fun require special arrival and departure procedures. The FAA publishes a NOTAM with specific routes, altitudes, frequencies, and procedures weeks before each event.
If you are flying in, study the NOTAM thoroughly — Oshkosh arrival procedures are unlike any other operation in aviation. Expect to follow the Fisk arrival, rock your wings on command, and land on a colored dot.
For ground-based attendees, book camping or hotels early. Oshkosh accommodations sell out months in advance.
