Automated inputs
Auto-filled from live data. No manual weather lookups. No copying numbers between apps.
Live weather
Current METARs, TAFs, and wind data auto-populate the weather risk section. Ceiling, visibility, crosswind, and turbulence factors scored automatically.
Active NOTAMs
Relevant NOTAMs for your departure, destination, and alternates are pulled and scored. Runway closures, nav aid outages, and airspace restrictions factor into risk.
TFR awareness
Active and upcoming TFRs along your route are detected and factored into the assessment. No surprises in the air.
Pilot readiness
I'M SAFE checklist integration. Pilot fitness is half the risk equation. We track both halves.
Illness
Self-assessment for any symptoms or conditions that could affect flight safety.
Medication
Check for any medications that may be incompatible with flying duties.
Stress & fatigue
Evaluate stress levels, sleep quality, and fatigue factors that increase risk on every flight.
Alcohol & eating
Confirm compliance with the 8-hour bottle-to-throttle rule and adequate nutrition and hydration.
Emotion
Assess emotional state and distractions that could compromise decision-making in the cockpit.
Combined scoring
Pilot readiness factors combine with environmental data for a complete risk picture — not just weather, not just you.
Risk levels
Clear risk scoring. Four levels. No ambiguity. Actionable mitigations.
LOW — Green
All risk factors within normal limits. Standard preflight procedures apply. Fly with confidence.
MODERATE — Yellow
Elevated risk in one or more areas. Review mitigations, consider adjustments to route, altitude, or timing.
HIGH — Orange
Significant risk factors present. Requires active mitigation or flight modification. Consult with a CFI if student pilot.
EXTREME — Red
One or more critical risk factors. Strong recommendation to postpone. Document your risk assessment reasoning.
No other EFB offers automated FRAT. Legacy EFBs leave risk assessment to you. Paper forms cannot pull live data. AeroCopilot is the only platform that combines live environmental data with pilot readiness into a single scored assessment.
