About the FRAT

The FAA recommends a Flight Risk Assessment Tool for every Part 135 leg as part of a documented Safety Management System (SMS). This web FRAT mirrors the categories from FAA InFO 07015 and AC 120-92 — pilot, aircraft, environment, external pressures, and operations — but uses a faster scoring rubric you can complete on a phone before each flight.

This tool is provided for informational purposes. Operators must still maintain their own approved FRAT process per their SMS manual and ops specifications.
