What we ingest
Current-hour AQI observations for 23 US metropolitan sample points — 20 in the continental US plus Anchorage, Honolulu and San Juan — queried by latitude/longitude within a 50-mile radius, each with its pollutant, AQI value, category and the visibility impact we derive from it. The parameter set outside the continental US differs by point rather than uniformly: measured 2026-08-20, the Honolulu reporting areas published ozone as well as particulate matter, while Anchorage and San Juan (Catano) carried particulate matter only.
Where this feed reaches
A region on this list means we fetch it. It is not a promise of station density: a listed region can still have sparse or no reporting sites near a given airport. Where a feed does not reach a region at all, this page says so instead of showing an empty panel.
